This beautiful blue ceramic plate is from Rishtan, Uzbekistan. It is located in the south of Fergana Valley between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. This area is one of the oldest ceramic centers of Central Asia.
Ceramic production is said to have arrived from China via Silk Road. It dates back to the 8th century.
